Meet Your Instructor:

Regan Stacey

Owner and Lead Instructor of The Forest Therapy School

Regan Stacey is an artist, writer, and mindfulness meditation teacher who brings humans and nature together for personal, collective, and planetary well-being. The forest has long been a partner in her life — through joy, curiosity, and life’s most difficult challenges. As a cancer survivor, she came to understand the healing power of nature through a deeper understanding of our interconnectedness. Now she, in turn, shares what she has learned: how to awaken the forest within.

She is dedicated to the work of reconnecting humans to nature and is highly credentialed as your instructor. She is qualified to teach mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) through Brown University and is a certified mindfulness meditation teacher through the Greater Good Science Center and Sounds True, with Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach (MMTCP). She trained with Gil Fronsdal, Kirsten Rudestam, and Susie Harrington in Buddhist Eco-Chaplaincy and is certified through the Sati Center for Buddhist Studies.

Our 16-week Online Signature Training is designed to deepen your nature connection as you slowly embody the teachings over the course of 10 immersive weeks of content and 3 forest therapy walks, followed by a 6-week mentored practicum.

All classes and walks take place virtually via Zoom.

During the weekly ‘live meetups,’ you will have the opportunity to join in discussion with our highly qualified instructors and your peers, bringing life to the online course materials.

You will also experience 3 virtual forest therapy walks during the program—2 instructor-led walks and 1 student-led walk where you will get hands-on practice.

During the 6-week practicum you'll have access to your instructors via Q&A group mentor calls.

Once certified, you’ll receive The Forest Therapy School’s collection of 100 invitations for use on your walks, a resource library of books, articles, websites, films, poetry, research studies, etc. to deepen your knowledge, as well as a fully customizable slide presentation to share with your community to grow your guiding practice.

In addition, you will receive an invitation to join our virtual community of Certified Forest Therapy Guides where you can connect, be inspired, and receive ongoing support.

As an FTS Certified Forest Therapy Guide, you receive lifetime access to our training guidebook, which means as we add to the program, you will have access to all the new training content.

To qualify for certification, you may miss no more than 3 module reviews. All classes are recorded. Additionally, you must make 2 of the 3 scheduled forest therapy walks. The walks are not recorded.

"The Forest Therapy School's Forest Therapy Guide Program has been an amazing experience. The content, layout, delivery, pace and overall approach was so well done in all respects. It's been such a pleasure to learn from you, and I am truly grateful for the knowledge and skills I've acquired. I am confident and excited to begin my journey as a forest therapy guide, and look forward to being a part of the community. Thank you. " — Mike Sidoti, M.Ed., MBA, BCC
