Regan Stacey
Acknowledging both the entanglement and enchantment of our times, Regan embraces a celebratory ecology that invites us to slow down and awaken our senses to the sights, sounds, and scents of the world with wonder, curiosity, and joy — to feel deep into our connection with the Earth and Sky, where our roots find anchor and we flourish forth. A wild wanderer, Regan welcomes life with an insatiable curiosity, a heavy dose of hope, and is not afraid to dive deep.
Guided by a calling to bring humans and nature together for the betterment of ourselves, our communities, and our planet, she serves through offering mindfulness-in-nature retreats, guided forest bathing sessions, and amplifies the work through The Forest Therapy School.
Regan holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Master of Fine Arts in Visual Studies. Her interest in worldviews has led her to pursue a Master of Science in Philosophy, Science, and Religion from the University of Edinburgh in Scotland.
Locally, she serves as a member of the coordinating committee of the Eightmile River Wild & Scenic Watershed, a federally designated watershed in the Lower Connecticut River Valley, where she sits on the education and outreach committee. In 2018, her interest in inviting teens to move from screens to green led her to establish a teen stewardship and conservation program called the Tree Collective through the Lyme Land Trust. She continues to facilitate the program today.
A former professional athlete, Regan represented the United States in international competition and was captain of the women’s US World Championship Open Water Marathon Swimming Team. In 2001, she concluded a 20-year swimming career and fulfilled a childhood dream with a solo crossing of the English Channel — three months pregnant with her daughter, Jane (not planned!). Together they were the fastest to cross that summer. She is also a French-trained pastry chef who owned a custom wedding cake and dessert catering business for 10 years while making art and raising her children — Jane, Calvin, and Harry.
As an artist at heart, she continues to express her creativity through art making, poetry and writing, and in the many ways she serves. Collectively, she calls her work The Earthsong Project and remains ever grateful for the collaborative process of bringing forth a more beautiful world.
