Robert Reenan

SCIENTIST, MINDFULNESS GUIDE

Robert received his undergraduate degree in Biology from Mizzou and his graduate degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Pharmacology from Harvard University. In the course of his independent research and teaching career, starting at UCONN and for the last 20 years at Brown University, he has published more than sixty articles, taught genetics to several thousand undergraduates, and trained more than a dozen PhD students.

At the tender age of 50, Robert realized he was more of a human doing than a human being thanks to a “coming-to-awareness” moment on a mountain. Since that instant, he has climbed more than 500 mountains in the US and abroad, taught and led wilderness travel and navigation skills courses, and become certified in forest therapy with The Forest Therapy School. He is also certified in the teaching of mindfulness programs which he continues to broaden. Robert’s ongoing passion is to share and stimulate curiosity about all of the systems, including consciousness, that have brought us to our current and highly-interconnected nexus of Life on our planet. Always following the intention of beginner’s mind, combining mindful awareness and nature exposure, Robert seeks to cultivate the felt senses of belonging and perspective in body and mind through future adventures with fellow curious Beings.

Robert is a graduate of The Forest Therapy School’s Guide Certification Program.
